Whether your student is struggling in their math class, or loves math and is eager to get ahead, I can help! I have many years of experience in both teaching and tutoring mathematics, which has given me the skills necessary to provide the support your students need to better their test scores, boost their confidence, and enrich their math experience while gaining mastery in the subject. Personal, one-on-one tutoring is available for students in elementary math up through calculus. Tutoring is the most efficient and effective form of instruction possible, because a student receives personalized learning at their own individual pace, and it is tailored to meet their individualized needs. The one-on-one design also provides a comfortable environment for them to ask questions.
Tutoring typically starts with any questions the student has and then moves to a review of the current material they are working on in their math class, as this is what most immediately impacts their grade. Since new math concepts are always building on previous material, we are able to strengthen their abilities by identifying and working on any gaps in understanding from the past. I can also coach your child to develop time management and study skills. This, combined with the learning of new concepts and reviewing of past ones, will help your student work toward success in their math class and beyond.
I work from my home in Fall City and have tutored students from the surrounding areas that attend public and private schools, as well as home-schooled students. I also work several afternoons a week at the Newport Way library.
